Describe Pollution In Your Region

Model Answer:
Pollution has been a serious problem for a certain time around the world. There are many causes for it. Transportation is the main factor of pollution. When the waste gas from cars is released. the air is polluted. People breathing in the polluted air can develop respiratory disease. Another factor is that people throw their garbage everywhere. All kinds of garbage not only spoil the splendid environment, but also cause the environmental pollution. What’s more. industrial pollution also deserves our attention. Wastewater from factories is poured into rivers and this causes water pollution. As a consequence. greenhouse effect becomes a problem which needs our immediate caution and how to solve environmental pollution is urgent all over the world. At present, some measures have been taken to prevent the pollution. For example, people classify the garbage and some garbage is recycled after being collected. People are also encouraged to use paper products instead of plastic products because we know that our living condition will be worse if we keep ignoring this problem. And I believe we can prevent pollution if everybody makes efforts.

Is there any pollution in your city?
Sure. With the development of modern industry, more and more garbage is produced and this is harmful. It pollutes water, soil and air. In places around factories, trees and vegetables are often contaminated by dirty air and water. When we inhale the air, harm will be done to our health.
What’s the most serious pollution in your city?
Well. I guess air pollution is the most serious. The sky is not blue any longer. Instead, it’s always gray. You will have difficulty breathing.
What measures have been taken to solve the problem by the government?
The government has made a restriction on the number of cars. This will lessen the degree of air pollution. Besides, different departments of the government examine the factories regularly to make sure they do not pollute the environment.
What suggestion do you give to solve the pollution problem?
I believe it’s not just the responsibility of the government. Every citizen should be educated to be aware of this big issue. We should have the sense of environmental protection everywhere.
What should the government or individuals do to protect the environment?
Besides the government, individuals also play an important role in environmental protection. They shouldn’t classify their garbage and use recycled materials.
What is dangerous to environment?
I guess the most dangerous factor to the environment is the factories. Like, we have a lot of industrial plants that dump waste water into the rivers. They pollute our drinking water.
How can we deal with it?
The government should set a standard for these factories and stipulate strict laws to penalize those who cause serious pollution problems.
