Model Answer 1:

There are many interesting places in my home town but here I am going to talk
about Haveli
 It is on the national highway between Jalandhar & Phagwara.
 Actually it falls in the suburbs of Phagwara.
 I like it because of the delicious & quality food , quick & prompt service & a friendly
atmosphere.
 It is always swarming with people & brimming with activity.
 The food is priced at very normal rates.
 It is a huge place with a seating capacity of about 200 people.
 The interior is decorated to simulate a traditional Punjabi village scene.
 Handicrafts adorn the walls which give the place a very ethnic look.
 The food served is mouth watering & delicious.
 The restaurant is very clean & hygienic.
 The waiters are amicable & friendly.
 In the evenings Punjabi cultural songs & dances are per formed by various artists.
 It is a must visit place for one & all
 It is so interesting that one can never feel bored there.

Sample Answer 2:
For my job I currently live in the capital city of our country which is … (say the name of the capital city in your country…). It has been more than 5 years since I left my hometown and yet this is the town where my heart belongs to. I will always remember the days and places where I spent my childhood and teenage, the golden years in my life. The name of my hometown is (…say the name of your hometown…) and it is located in the northern part of the (… say the city/ district name where this town belongs to…). This town will always be special to me, no matter where I go, how far I go. There are many interesting places if I consider from different perspectives in my hometown that I can recall now. Out of these places, the rail station, which is located at the southern corner of our city is the one I would like to talk about.

In my childhood, the rail station in my hometown was the most mysterious and interesting place for us. We, as children, were not allowed to enter the main premises where the rail stopped and this prohibition made us more curious about this place. This is still a place which is quite interesting for me. This is possibly because this rail station is the entry and exit point for me- to and from my hometown. When the train drops me in this station, I feel a sensation of being home. On the contrary, during the time of my departure, I feel an acute melancholy that I won’t be able to express in words. This place has always been a mystery to me and it is still a place full of happiness, sadness and enigma.

From two other perspectives, this place is quite interesting to me. One- the surrounding view of this station is quite spectacular and would give someone an impression that he is standing over a tall mountain and can see the green fields below all around him. The view gives the first impression of the natural beauty this area has. In fact, I have never seen any other train station which is located in such a higher place and gives such a beautiful view.  Second- the different types of people who come here each day is an interesting thing to observe. Some people come here to sell numerous products, some wait for their relatives or family members to arrive, some to see off their relatives or friends, and finally some are part of the administrative office of the rail authority. In my opinion, this is an interesting hub of people from different ages, places and purposes.

If I am to suggest a foreign tourist about the interesting places of my hometown, I would suggest him to start with this rail station. This rail station will give a very good idea about our town, people and places to be there. To me, this is the gateway to a beautiful town where my heart belongs to.

Pakistan is a place of historical importance in the south Asian subcontinent and contains several World Heritage Sites. The Lahore Fort is one of them and I’ve been there for numerous times for its attractive features.

The Lahore Fort is a citadel and locally this is known as the Shahi Qila. The fort is the example of rich Mughal architecture. The citadel is located in the Iqbal Park in Pakistan. The history and origin of the park are not known precisely but so far it is revealed that the fort was made during the Mughal Empire. Emperor Akbar had built the Fort in the 15th century. The fort was well maintained by the Mughals until their fall. After the downfall of Mughal Empire, the fort was assigned to the Sikh and subsequently the British rulers ruled on it. The fort has two entrances and one of them is known as Alamgiri gate which was made by Emperor Aurangzeb. The Alamgiri gate is faced to a mosque better known as the Badshahi mosque. The first gate was made by Emperor Akbar and was named as Maseeti. The gate is facing the city of Lahore. Now, the fort is using the Alamgiri gate by closing the Maseeti gate permanently.

The Lahore Fort is located at the Iqbal Park in Pakistan. Iqbal Park is the largest urban park in Pakistan. Both the park and the fort are located in the walled city of Lahore. To be more transparent about the issue, the Lahore Fort is located adjacent to my residence in Lahore. I live with my parents in the walled city of Lahore in Pakistan and the Lahore Fort is visible from our balcony. Geographically, the Shahi Qila is situated in the north-west part of Lahore. The fort is accessible from anywhere in the city and thus a good number of visitors come to visit the historical place. Strategically, the location was important to dominate some of the strongholds in Multan, Kashmir and Kabul and thus the solid brick made fort has been built in this region.

The Lahore Fort is famous for several reasons and the most important cause is its architecture. The fort is dominated by the Persian gardens and the buildings inside are still own the striking look. The entire fort is divided into separate sections, spacious bedrooms, concealed residential parts, entrance etc. Besides, some small gardens are also notable and have increased the beauty of the fort. Diwan –I – Aam is one of the halls, which was made by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1628, to meet with the common people of the locality and the design is similar to that one of Agra Fort. The Sheesh Mahal is made with glasses and the Mahal was built by Mirza Ghiyas Begh. The Mahal contains a large hall and was considered as the harem of the fort. The fort has experienced some modifications during the British period to meet the needs of the British army.

To me, the Lahore Fort is interesting for several reasons. I have visited the fort for several times and each of the times I was amazed at the designs of the Mughal artists who built the fort. Though some of the parts of the fort have been modified for several reasons, the other places are still at their best look. The wonderful 17th century Moti Masjid has increased the beauty of the fort. The Noti Masjid contains five arches and three domes above the roof which have increased the beauty of it. Unfortunately, the masjid was converted into Sikh Mandir (temple) during the reign of Sikh Maharaja. The gates of the fort also have a grandeur look with the semi-circular bastions. I also visited the Naag temple inside the fort which is mostly famous for fresco paintings. Overall, the entire fort is a place to enjoy the past and thus I like it most.

Model Answer 4:

I live in New York with my parents. There are a good number of interesting places to see and visit here. But the New York Public Library is more interesting to me than any other places.

I am citizen of the USA by birth but my parents are not. They came here in search of living from Larissa in Greece during the 1980s. They have been living for around 36 years in this city. After my birth and I got matured enough, they took me to different interesting places to visit in the New York city, and these places are really interesting. But being an introvert, I disliked the crowds and the public library appeared to be more interesting to me than other places. The place is filled with books on numerous issues, magazines, documents and many other things. The classics available in the library were my favourite.

Going to the library is easier for me. In fact, this is not far away from my residence. The New York Public Library is only a 10-minute walk from my home. It remains open from 10am to 8pm, except the weekends. Usually, I go there in the evening and read books or novels until the library is closed. Besides, the library is accessible from the other parts of the city. The people who want to visit the library can reach here using several transportation modes. They can reach the library by taxi, metro or by their private cars. But the people who live nearby, like me, come here mostly on foot.

The New York Public Library is a great place to read. But the people who come here are not readers always. Some of them are researchers, while some others may be historians or musicians. Actually, the library is visited by a wide range of people. Basically, the library comes with the reading facilities. But there is also  the scope to check the reference books, peep on the music directory or crosscheck any history. Besides, the reading rooms are well expanded and the readers have ample opportunities to use the books and references after their needs. But they have to be careful with the books. Silence among the readers while reading books is expected there.

Reading books may appear boring to many but it is very interesting to me. I love reading books. The books help us to know the unknown and unseen. The experiences of past thousand years have been preserved in books in words. So, when I read them, it appears that I am travelling through time! But everyplace is not suitable for reading and it requires a very special environment. Hence, I think a library is a nice place to read. At the same time, it is an interesting place as an enriched collection of books are available together. In fact, it is impossible for an individual to collect a part of the books of this library in his entire life. So, I find more interest in reading books in a calm place and the New York Public Library is a place I would recommend to a tourist.
